At ACG, we take on some of the most challenging and unique excavation projects, and our recent work at Bellefonte School was no exception. Tasked with preparing the site for a massive 30,000-gallon water tank to support the school’s fire suppression system, we dug deep—literally! This project required precision, endurance, and the power of using a million-dollar pieces of heavy machinery to get the job done right.
Digging Deep: A 20-Foot Excavation Challenge
Creating a secure space for the water tank meant excavating a hole 20 feet deep. This was no small feat, as we encountered dense rock formations that required nearly two months of intensive rock breaking. Our expert team leveraged advanced excavation techniques and heavy-duty equipment to systematically break down and remove the rock, ensuring a safe and stable foundation for the tank installation.

The Power of Equipment & Expertise
With the sheer scale of this project, we relied on an arsenal of powerful machines, from excavators and rock breakers to loaders and haul trucks, ensuring every phase of the dig was handled efficiently. Precision and safety were our top priorities, as we worked tirelessly to create the ideal conditions for the water tank’s placement.

Collaboration with S.A. Comunale Co Inc.
A project of this magnitude requires teamwork, and we were proud to partner with S.A. Comunale Co Inc., a leader in fire protection solutions. Their expertise in fire suppression system installation was instrumental in ensuring that Bellefonte School’s new system would be operational and effective in safeguarding the facility for years to come.
